Lots and lots of stuff

We are doing lots of stuff these days. Amanda won first prize in the talent show for the fair! There was a giant down pour/ storm 40 minutes before show time and she almost didn't get to perform. Luckily the powers that be regrouped and were able to get the equipment ready and the show went on. She sang loudly and moved me to tears and won $100. She showed her lamb Scout in the fair and won a Reserve Grand Champion for market. He pulled in $15 a pound and will help her pay for cool things like a replacement phone for the one she dropped in the sheep water bucket.

I attended the fair minimally this year because I had grandson duties and also church meetings. Luckily I can attend a lot of my meetings virtually through the internet with face time and such. It makes living 2 hours from the Stake Center more doable. Zeke and I played and snuggled while everyone went to the fair concert. We played with TV remotes and pulled things out of drawers.

Amanda also received her driver's permit! She is driving us all around town these days. She is fairly skilled in many ways and learning in others.

Kris has managed to pack in a lot of fishing this summer. Two weeks ago he went fishing with the girls and while backing the boat into the lake the brakes went out on the vehicle. This could have resulted in a very submerged situation but luckily the boat stopped the backward progress.. and a tow truck and several helpful people later resulted in a successful free repair and no loss of life or property. We also did some fishing with our friend Vickie yesterday and caught 7 fish. I have noticed a direct correlation between number of fishing trips and happiness for Kris. He is pretty happy. Also BYU has won two games in a row and this is maxing out his happiness... He is pretty easy to please.

Brooke made it down to Utah and is enjoying sisters and grandma. We miss her and the dog misses her. She turns 20 this week!

Hailey Mae is planning all the wedding details in Utah. I just have to supply funds which is not too bad. She has been doing a Microbiology class and applying to nursing school.

We have seen Shelby and Trent lots since she has moved closer and we enjoy that. They are a cute couple.

Stefani and Glen got us a new stove which they delivered and installed! It was like Christmas. We had been using a battered old Jen Air that was on its last leg. Many burners didn't work. This new appliance is so sleek and easy to clean. We feel so spoiled.

Stef has been doing super creative things like making her own podcast which features interviews with people in the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. She is always amazing me with her talents.
