Life lessons.. in the last 12 hours...
Servicing vehicles and appliances is ... important.
1/21/09 22oopm.... cake baking process started for important birthday
2215pm..... oven begins flashing lights and smoking... smoke detector going off (remember back in November when oven went out during Thanksgiving dinner... should've had it fixed)
2216pm..... breaker turned off...
2225pm... baker put materials away.. will bake again tomorrow
2300pm... pacing thinking about daughter's birthday

0600am... awaken for the day
0700am.. head for DMV....on practice drive with excited teenager
0805am..present correct paperwork to DMV woman
0807am...Teenager heads out to car for test.. mom and amanda read a magazine
0808am...Teenager returns to DMV in tears... window does not roll down and it is necessary for windows to roll down to test in vehicle (Back in November husband disconnected wires to windows as driver's side window broke).
0820am .. Teenager passes written test with 100% asks mom if she would go get truck from dad..
0830am... Mom heads out looking for dad and his truck... dad is servicing truck and is frustratingly hard to locate... mom says swear words...mom calls dad yelling....
0852am ... mom returns to DMV in truck... DMV woman rejects truck... too late and DMV must open at 0900am sharp... need to reschedule test... teenager dejected.. birthday is in peril...
LIFE is HARD.....
