Summer Fun

Things are heating up here in our little town. The temperatures are toasty warm and we are finding new activities to fill our school less days.

Amanda and I are spending lots of quality time together while Brooke is at camp and traveling so we have been cooking together. Grandma Shirley compiled a bunch of Grandma Payne's recipes together in a thick cookbook and we have been trying some together. Last week we made some rolls. They turned out pretty well!

We have also been feeding the lambs at least once a day. Right now the lambs are eating hay and a little grain.

We are getting ready for her big trip to Japan. This involves gathering gifts to give to her host family and getting supplies.

Other exciting news ..There are a bunch of hippies in the area getting ready for some big hippie rainbow convention thingie that is about an hour away. Also the solar eclipse that is happening on August 21st is supposed to draw an extra 25,000 people in the surrounding areas.

Our town isn't really designed to handle a big influx of people. So I have a note in my planner for the week before to get gas in all the cars and buy a bunch of food.

Other than that, life is about the same.

Work, sleep, repeat.
