Last week we had our little adorable grandbaby with us to celebrate his birthday. The little guy has boundless energy. He is adept at circumventing the obstacles that we create for him to enclose him in a confined area. We don't really own baby gates and we have all sorts of stairs so we move furniture basically to keep him in the living room. We also move furniture to block the more dangerous parts of the kitchen.
He loves to grab the bench to the kitchen table and move it and then walk around it into parts unknown. At home he has been known to crawl into kitchen cupboards. He is fast, stealthy and doesn't really understand danger or the word no.
We did some fun things like take him to the hotsprings... where he enjoyed soaking in the cooler parts. He swang in our ancient kid swing. We baked some cupcakes and he had his first sweet treat. I hit up the dollar store and bought balloons and hats for him to enjoy. He would let the helium balloon go and then point to it and want us to climb on the ladder to retrieve it.
His words include ball, ma ma, da da, ace, beau, wha?
We bought him a ball pit and 200 balls to go in it. The pit holds a lot of balls. His other grandparents bought him 400 balls. That is a lot of balls.
I hope it's not too hard for his parents to keep the balls in one place.
