Winding down

It's that time of year where things are winding down. None of the high schoolers are doing sports. Basically Stef is working every day of the week at her pizza job. She has one foot in the high school world (finishing up her awesome Sr. project in photography) and the other in the pre college world. Shelby is practicing Basketball as much as possible. She regularly borrows the church key and goes to shoot in the carpeted gym. Hailey is attending all the pre high school sport open gyms and fundraising for camps. She is anticipating her 8th grade graduation and life in high school. Brookie is doing Park and Rec Volleyball. Her natural athleticism makes up for her lack of height. Amanda had to forgo T-ball after the broken arm thing (DARN).

Here is what our week looked like...
Monday.. fairly mellow day, band practice, kids had late open gyms... Stef worked.
Tuesday...got my hair done, errands, late basketball open gyms.
Wednesday... car problems (shock broke), young women's general broadcast and dinner.
Thursday... Amanda's fiddle recital at school (guest artist taught the kids some simple tunes)...dentist appointment for me (drilling, drilling, drilling, no root canal YET)...helped in the 5th grade class (music.. sang I'm a believer to kids while we tried to be a class "band")... It was pretty pathetic.. I'd have to say... Band practice.. on call for work
Friday today... Got Stef's tires changed.. took kids to friend's house.. had friend over for Amanda.. Trying to clean and sew graduation and prom dresses.

But the best part of this week was that after my pathetic post about the glue mac and cheese.. My friend Candace made us dinner last night. Homemade Macaroni and Cheese with bacon, fresh sauteed green beans, homemade rolls and a custard type dessert topped with strawberries. It was HEAVEN.
