Oh life is so interesting. So much material to blog about.. where to start. Well.... We love our steak. In fact, when we have a nice meal out we generally order a steak and a halibut or 2 steaks or some variation thereof. In October in Utah we were enjoying a romantic dinner when Kris took a bite of steak and then didn't talk or breath for several seconds. I contemplated doing the heimlich and the waitress panicked slightly when he brought things up on his own and we quickly asked for the check and left. This provided us with a chuckle or two over the next week or so but was quickly forgotten. This weekend we ate dinner out and had prime rib. Kris had a small episode which quickly resolved and I told him to chew his food better. Then Saturday he took a bite of meat and it well got stuck. It lodged in his esophagus allowing nothing to go down including his saliva. We quickly went to my home away from home the local er... and Kris got a fast ticket to sleepy land and a breathing tube and a scope to dislodge the meat particle which had swollen and was not going to budge without assistance.
It was a little scary for me.. But he says "it's no big deal" and is back to work and play and eating meat in very small bites.
I popped a filling eating my steak this weekend and had to have it replaced ... love that drill.
Perhaps the Word of Wisdom advice to eat meat sparingly would be very good to follow!!!
